Why CarToru
Buying a used car should not feel like a guessing game. Listings are noisy, asking prices vary wildly, and it is hard to know whether you are looking at a fair deal or a trap. CarToru exists to give shoppers clear, data-backed context before they negotiate or sign.
What we do
Paste a listing or enter vehicle details and we compare it to live inventory and models. You get ranked comps, directional fair-value estimates, reliability and common-issue context, and negotiation angles you can actually use. Prefer browsing first? Search local deals by ZIP, or get personalized recommendations from your budget and priorities.
How we think about numbers
Our estimates are directional guidance for negotiation — not certified appraisals and not a promise of what a car will sell for. Especially on exotic, luxury, or rare-trim listings, treat the figure as a starting point and verify options and condition yourself. We would rather be honest about uncertainty than oversell precision.
Where we are now
CarToru is in a controlled beta. We are refining comps, trim matching, and guidance with real shoppers — including on harder high-end inventory — before we market more broadly. Feedback shapes what we ship next.
